Family background
    In the winter of 1994, a cute girl was born in Tainan. That is me. My name is Wu Hsiao-Yun. My adorable family is three generations under the same roof. My father, who is an open-minded person full of sense of humor, gives us freedom of choice. My mother is a housewife. She always aims at the development of my personality. I have a positive perspective on life for I was grown up in such a lovely home. I am the eldest child of three. Since I am the eldest one, it makes me become an independent, responsible and mature person. In spite of the fact that my family is not very rich, my parents try their best to let our life get better. Perhaps my family is not perfect in every aspect; I am still content with what I have now.

School life
I am studying at Department of Applied Foreign Languages in National Tainan Commercial Vocational Senior High School. During my academic years, I have served as a class secretary for one and half a year since art is one of my interests. Although sometimes it is difficult to reach an agreement with my partners, I still try my best to cooperate with them. By being in charge of this position, I get lots of precious experiences, becoming a more sober-minded and responsible person.  When I am a senior in high school, I realized that only Japanese can arouse my interest-- how amazing it is that everything could be expressed by the 50 letters in the alphabet! With a view to improving my abilities such as reading or listening Japanese words, I studied them every day. I believe that the more I study, the better I would become. I have always believed in the saying “You can only have one dream, but if you can do it right, once is enough.” In order to fulfill my dream—studying in Japan, I participated in Japanese club which helps me gain lots of useful and valuable knowledge.   With my teacher’s encouragement, I took the General English Proficiency Test and passed the intermediate level. In NTCVS, not only have I enhanced my English and Japanese abilities, but I have also understood the importance of working in unity and close cooperation. Despite the fact that I always have to face lots of challenges in my school life, I am in great confidence that “Spare the rod and spoil the child “. I hope that one day I can be the master of my own fortune and have the courage to overcome difficulties.

I am Lin. Sophia is my English name. I am 18 years old, studying in a public high school. I come from a very happy middle-class family. My father works in a bank and my mother works in a bookstore. I am the only child in the family; however, I am not the so-called spoiled child. My parents have trained me to be independent since I was a child.

     In my opinion, I’m against the conduct of using animals in laboratory experiments. The behavior above is such a cruel way to treat the innocent animals. There’s no denying that every creatures on earth are equal, but how can we regard other creature as being inferior to us? How can we be so arrogant? I can’t get it. After they are being used, the researchers would view them as garbage or a not important stuff. As all the animals get mad and strike back to us, we would deserve the punishment one day.

    Acton is a harmonious town in the Midwest, and it’s a safe, quiet and clean place to live.  One day, a large factory is decided to be built here. Of course, it may make great influence on this small town. Everyone who lives here is both worried and excited. Fortunately, most of the dwellers hold positive attitude toward it. The most primary effect is that the industry of this small town would be full of vitality, especially the tourism industry. It is because that the residents are capable of improving their living quality instead of residing in an undeveloped surrounding. It’s of critical importance for the inhabitants are able to broaden their horizon. Having seen the imported goods brought in from foreign countries, people can know what things are catching on in other regions.  Needless to say, the factory provides a variety of job vacancies. Consequently, there is no need for the young to move out to search for a job. The unemployment rate may decrease and in the long run, robberies would no more happen because people living here may support their family by themselves. That is to say, others property won’t attract them any more. To sum up, building a factory in Acton is a good and helpful determination for the entire residents. We should view it as a positive effect rather than refuse to accept it.

    Among various kinds of sports, I am in favor of jogging and riding bike in particular. As far as I am concerned, jogging is a good way for people who want to improve their fitness. And there is no doubt that human beings are able to go jogging or riding a bike in spite of any climates, whether it is a sunny day or a rainy one. Therefore, both jogging and riding a bike soon catch on in the whole world. In addition, we should not neglect what the two sports above are likely to make humanity grow muscles. For example, while jogging or riding a bike, people ought to use their calves and would have muscles if they exercise at pains regularly.     With criminals increasing, I’m in favor of using the death penalty as a form of criminal punishment. I consider that we should sentence the criminals to death instead of putting them in jails forever, because some of the convicts who are not afraid of being sent into prison. Moving to a new house must be an important decision in my lifetime. It was about 5 years ago, my parents planned to sell our old house in order to move to a more comfortable environment.     With criminals increasing, I’m in favor of using the death penalty as a form of criminal punishment. I consider that we should sentence the criminals to death instead of putting them in jails forever because some of the convicts who are not afraid of being sent into prison would commit high crimes if the death penalty is abolished. Although death penalty is a risky measure, it’s of great importance. Without its existence, the crime rate will rapidly rise, and then the bad guy would not obey the law any more. Due to the reasons above, the dwellers living in the city must lead a terror-stricken life. They are necessarily anxious about their “tomorrow’’ life. Therefore, abolishing the death penalty cannot be practiced. After all, it’s the last line of defense for people to cracking down on villains. In word, I cannot agree with the death penalty anymore.

    In my opinion, I’m against the conduct of using animals in laboratory experiments. The behavior above is such a cruel way to treat the innocent animals. They don’t do anything wrong, but we human put them into death by using their bodies to test the curative effects. No one is able to undergo the bitterness, so are the animals. There’s no denying that every creatures on earth are equal, but how can we regard the other creatures as being inferior to us? I can’t get it, the people who care about them, too. Using animals in laboratory is not ethical. They may suffer from the rays, being turned into a weird firm-that is not reasonable. They even can’t give birth or have their bodies’ right. After they are being used, the researchers would view them as garbage or a not important stuff. Nevertheless, it will bring horrible effects if the animals died in a way that is against the nature. The food chain will change and do great damage to our human beings. To tell the truth, we human are not so much smart as proud. As one day all the animals get mad and strike back to us, we would deserve the punishment one day.

    Acton is a small town in the Midwest, and it’s a safe, quiet and clean place to live.  One day, a large factory is decided to be built here. Of course, it may make great influence on this small town. Everyone who lives here is both worried and excited. Fortunately, most of the dwellers hold positive attitude toward it.

    The most primary effect is that the industry of this small town would full of vitality, especially the tourism industry. As a result of that, the residents can improve their living quality instead of living in a poor surrounding. It’s of great importance that the inhabitants are able to boarden their horizon. Having seen the new stuff brought in from foreign countries, they can know what things are catching on in other regions.  

    Needless to say, the factory provides a variety of job opportunities. Consequently, there is no need for the young to move out to look for a job. The unemployment rate may decrease and eventually, robberies would no more happen because people living here can support their family by themselves. That is to say, others property won’t attract them any more.

    To sum up, building a factory in Acton is a good and helpful way for the entire residents. We should view it as a positive effect instead of refusing to accept it.

First, it is of great significance for both of us to have our own room-we all need to have private space, and Fairfax Apartments can meet our requirement. Second, with the increase of expense during pursuing our studies, we don’t have much more money to spend on. Consequently, Fairfax Apartments, which is furnished, may save our pockets, while CAMPUS APTS has no furnish. Therefore, it would be very inconvenient for us to live in and we must have to spend much money to buy the furnisher. Third, I am not into keeping a pet.   Last weekend, I made a visit to Kaohsiung, which was one of my old friend’s hometown. We met at Kaohsiung Station, and exchanged greeting with each other. After that, we went to a celebrated restaurant and ate Korean dishes. We had a pleasant lunch there and shared what we had undergone over these years. On account of the torrid sun, we bounded for the most well-known shopping center called Hanshin Arena to stay away from it. Having seen a variety of high-class boutiques and trendy restaurants, we were too excited to slow down our paces watching them. And then we ate strawberry milk ice cream in the Baskin-Robbins 31 Ice Cream. The flavor was so amazing that it was beyond description.

Being extremely exhausted, we made up our minds to find a place to relax ourselves. Therefore, we left for the movie theater for the sofa. The sofa was so comfortable that both of us nearly fell asleep. After the movie came into the end, the night screen had already hung down so we took the MRT back to the railway station. We both wanted to get along for much more time but we had no choice but to say good-bye because of the coming dusk. To me, that day was not common but special and I really had such a wonderful time with my friend. I would never forget the fantastic things that we experienced, and this memory would always be a part of my life once and for all.
