Family background
In the winter of 1994, a cute girl was born in Tainan. That is me. My name is Wu Hsiao-Yun. My adorable family is three generations under the same roof. My father, who is an open-minded person full of sense of humor, gives us freedom of choice. My mother is a housewife. She always aims at the development of my personality. I have a positive perspective on life for I was grown up in such a lovely home. I am the eldest child of three. Since I am the eldest one, it makes me become an independent, responsible and mature person. In spite of the fact that my family is not very rich, my parents try their best to let our life get better. Perhaps my family is not perfect in every aspect; I am still content with what I have now.
School life
I am studying at Department of Applied Foreign Languages in National Tainan Commercial Vocational Senior High School. During my academic years, I have served as a class secretary for one and half a year since art is one of my interests. Although sometimes it is difficult to reach an agreement with my partners, I still try my best to cooperate with them. By being in charge of this position, I get lots of precious experiences, becoming a more sober-minded and responsible person. When I am a senior in high school, I realized that only Japanese can arouse my interest-- how amazing it is that everything could be expressed by the 50 letters in the alphabet! With a view to improving my abilities such as reading or listening Japanese words, I studied them every day. I believe that the more I study, the better I would become. I have always believed in the saying “You can only have one dream, but if you can do it right, once is enough.” In order to fulfill my dream—studying in Japan, I participated in Japanese club which helps me gain lots of useful and valuable knowledge. With my teacher’s encouragement, I took the General English Proficiency Test and passed the intermediate level. In NTCVS, not only have I enhanced my English and Japanese abilities, but I have also understood the importance of working in unity and close cooperation. Despite the fact that I always have to face lots of challenges in my school life, I am in great confidence that “Spare the rod and spoil the child “. I hope that one day I can be the master of my own fortune and have the courage to overcome difficulties.
Self-evaluation
I regard myself as a responsible and confident person. As the proverb goes” Where there's a will, there's a way”, nothing can stop myself from achieving the goal I eager to reach for I have positive attitude toward life. Thus, when I face the difficulties, I would try my best to overcome them even though it is such a hard stuff. I deeply believe that if one day I am able to fulfill my dream, all my efforts are worthy of making. When it comes to my dreams, one of my favorite is taking a trip to Japan since Japanese has been my loved-language and it is so awesome that I really fond of getting along with it. As I am involved in the Japanese world, beautiful words just like musical notes winding through my whole body. This is such an amazing experience that I understand one thing of great importance- I have already fallen in love with Japanese as I attach it. To me, Japanese means a lot to me for I realize only the lovely words can arouse my interest and there is no any other thing that can do so. As far as I am concerned, Japanese is as friendly as my best teacher who is capable of making me to become a trustworthy and dependable person. Despite the fact that the reason above must be a little unbelievable, I still convince that when I use Japanese, it gives me power which turns me into a strong-minded individual. It is just like the motto” A man is known by the company he keeps.” The more time I spend with Japanese, the more I am able to enrich my life with abundant knowledge. Being a Japanese-lover, I am certainly sure that Japanese has a great impact on me for I can’t live without it. Besides, I expect myself to transform into a person-who has an open-minded heart which can compare with my adorable language-Japanese.
Future perspectives
As the proverb I believe “Where there is a will, there is a way.” I have some goals that I am anticipated to achieve and they are as follows: for one thing, my first step is to be qualified for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test’s first –class in order to justify my self-ability. Despite of the fact that it is a hard achievement to achieve, I still want to reach the standard. The fact is that I am obsessed with Japanese, and this is a good opportunity to tell those who look down on me before-I am not only a Japanese-lover anymore. In turn, my second project is to become one of the Japanese volunteers of the YMCA summer camp. The reason why I want to attend this camp is because it can not only train myself to be a steady and refine person-by managing everything on my own, but enable myself to undergo the contrasting culture and civilization in Japan. Most important of all is that because of the 311 earthquake, lots of Japanese must still need our help to assist them to rebuild their homeland. As a kind-hearted Taiwanese, it is not suitable being a merciless onlooker. Aside from the above plans, the last goal I really eager to reach in my college life is bonding a good relationship with my “Japanese”. That is to say, I want to advance my Japanese ability and transform it into my own strength. For the sake of accomplishing them, reading classic works of Japanese Literature such as The Tale of Genji, The Pillow book and so on is one of my methods. By doing so, I am able to comprehend the true meaning lying behind the words. In short, my future perspective is to stick to my dream-sustaining to my Japanese bug forever and ever.
Conclusion
With an eye to be one of the members of the college that I want to be admitted, I hope I can stand the test of time-facing all the barriers without any fear just as the amazing guy I admire-King George the sixth. He is a strong-minded person and I expect myself to become a person like him. Sincerely, I conclude myself as an eligible person who can be qualified for this school because of my unique self-confidence and studying-passion.
